Traveling Internationally

Before you travel internationally, there are several things you need to know and consider.  Here are a few points to keep in mind:

Research the destination to familiarize yourself with the country’s culture, customs, and local laws. Learn about the weather, local language, currency, and transportation options.

Check your passport requirements to ensure that your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your planned departure date. Some countries also require a visa, so check the visa requirements of your destination.

If you need a passport and/or visa, please visit www.cibtvisas.com/inteletravel or you can call CIBT at 1-800-577-2428 and reference account number: 102209. When your request is complete, please send your email confirmation to: freedomtraveldiva@gmail.com

Check travel advisories to be aware of any safety and security concerns issued by our State Department at https://www.state.gov/.

Consider purchasing travel insurance to cover your investment such as: emergencies, trip cancellations, or lost belongings. Make sure the insurance covers your specific needs and the activities you plan to engage in.

Research and book your flights, trains, or other modes of transportation in advance to secure the best rates to suit your preferences and budget. Or you can hire a Travel Consultant to plan your journey effectively.

Make copies of important travel documents or take a picture of them such as your passport, visa, driver’s license, and other important documents needed on this trip. Leave a copy of these documents with a trusted person at home.

Check health requirements for your destination to get updated on any necessary vaccinations or medications needed for your trip. Consider obtaining an international Certificate of Vaccination if required.

Notify your cell phone provider and inform them of your international travel plans to avoid higher rates with calls and texts. Consider using WhatsApp to stay in touch with fellow travelers and family back home for free.

Notify your bank and credit card company and inform them of your international travel plans to avoid any issues with transactions or card freezes due to suspicious activity.

Secure your belongings and make sure your luggage is easily identifiable.
